Very good strings for most types of ukuleles.
I've been playing ukulele for about 25 years and have tried many different types and brands. In fact, if you're unsure about which strings to get I would always recommend trying several if your budget allows it.
Here's what I love about these strings in particular:
Aquila Nylgut strings produce a very balanced tone. They sound clear and bright with enough warmth to not sound "clanky" or tinny. This suits my preferences perfectly as I'm aiming for a sound, neither overly bright, nor too mellow. They are thinner and less squeaky than nylon strings (when played with fingertips) and slightly thicker and warmer sounding than fluorocarbon strings.
I pluck with my fingertips, not the nails, and my ukuleles already tend to sound brighter due to their tops made of spruce and cedar. But I also use these strings on my all-mahogany uke. They work great for many styles of playing, classical picking, finger-style, strumming with fingers and also strumming with a pick.
Obviously it all depends on your style of playing, the mechanics and angle of your hand- and finger movement and on the sound characteristics of your instrument. The strings are the connection between fingers and instrument and transport your style of playing to the body. Therefore it's crucial to choose the right strings to achieve the desired sound.
Aquila strings are made in Italy. The company has a lot of experience and is genuinely friendly and very competent to answer questions and help their customers. Each set of strings has a sticker on the back with the manufacturing date.
