Potenzial verschenkt...

Good and yet...
HI-X65 are well built headphones out of metal (mostly) and plastic. They come packed in a good hard paper box, which includes a soft bag and two detachable cables (3m and 1,2m). Cables are easily connected and there is a little locking system, which prevents cables from being accidentally disconnected.
Headphones are very light and you barely feel them on the head. They have very soft pads filled with some sort of memory foam (I am not sure if “very soft pads” is an entirely positive thing here). Ear pads can occasionally produce a noise when you move your head or squeeze the pads and the ear cups could be a bit deeper (my ears slightly touch the inside of the cups). Something that bothered me was the fact that my ears always started to get warm after about 45 minutes of listening and if I bent my head forward to look down or something, the headphone top would slide down two, three centimetres. There was never a danger of falling off my head, though. However, it did not feel right somehow to have those kinds of issues with headphones at this price.
The sound of HI-X65 is not totally neutral but it is very clean. It has a good, neutral bass for an open headphone. The area somewhere around 400Hz, and 500Hz is slightly lifted and I am still not sure if that is a good thing or not. It might be a good thing as a warning for potential muddy sound when mixing but it can make some records less clear in case you use these headphones only for listening music. There is also some kind of a hole around 2kHz or 3kHz. Trebles are the best thing; they are very good, open and lifted but they never sound harsh. Imaging and details are solid and the soundstage is above average.
