bam 8004XLC Arch Top Case 16"

Nach langem Überlegen, entschloss ich mich für das BAM Case. Ich verwende ihn für einen prewar L5 Nachbau. Der Koffer "sitzt" perfekt. Er macht einen robusten Eindruck, wobei ich ihn nicht als Flightcase benutzen würde. Eine kleine Delle hat er schon erhalten, was aber nicht so ersichtlich ist bei der Carbonoptik. Der Tragekomfort ist optimal, weil ultraleicht. Das Öffnen und Schliessen ist kinderleicht mit dem klug durchdachten Schliesmechanismus.

I use this BAM 8004XLC 16" Arch Top Case for travelling, by foot and public transport between gigs of an evening. It makes carrying my Gibson L4 a real joy. I often don't even use the shoulder straps as the guitar is light in this BAM case and, easy to manoeuvre.

I could not find anything that I did not like about this case and on the plus side, it fits all my 16" Arch Top guitars very well (and I am very fussy about the care of my instruments even though I play the hell out of them). Up until now I have not found a need to use the extra foam padding which comes with the case.

This case has been knocked over once so far, while it was stood on it's heel with me at a bus stop. I didn't even want to look at where it made contact to the wall before hitting the ground. But, it only dented slightly and didn't actually scratch and, most importantly, the guitar was undamaged. The dent on the case only went as deep as the 1cm case-structure and did not penetrate to the inside of the case.

My overall view of this guitar case is that it is an excellent case for the working musician. In time I will purchase one for my classical/nylon strung guitars as I find the case a joy to use.

The perfect combination of strength and weight for everyday use. I wouldn't put it in a plane hold, but that's not what it's designed for. (unless you pair it with the flight cover - though that makes it very bulky and awkward to carry). With the included rucksack straps it's easy to walk around all day with this on your back and not be bothered at all. The case also sits at a nice height so you shouldn't have too many problems with the top banging into door frames!

Je cherchais un étui rigide pour une archtop fabriquée par un luthier, avec une largeur de 16 pouces et une épaisseur de deux pouces et demi. Je tenais aussi à pouvoir la porter sur le dos avec des sangles.

L'étui BAM correspond très bien : il est adapté à la largeur de mon instrument, et accepterait une guitare plus épaisse, comme une ES 175 ou une L4 par exemple. Avec l'étui sont livrés des petits patins de mousse supplémentaires qui permettent d'ajuster l'instrument de manière très adaptée. Thomann m'a même fourni des patins supplémentaires.

Surtout l'étui est un excellent compromis entre solidité et légèreté : sur le dos, il semble ne rien peser, et pourtant protège la guitare très efficacement.

Le seul regret, c'est qu'il n'y a dedans aucun espace de rangement (cables, sangle, etc.).

Mais cela ne m'empêcherait pas d'en racheter un si l'occasion se présentait ! Je le recommande vivement.
