This guitar is great. I had it in the bought past, and changed the pick-ups... Good pick-up stuff then, but too much rock n roll to me. So I sold it. And bought it again now...
This guitar does not need any changes, indeed. Light wight, tuners are ok, even better than ok (very stable from the beginning onwards ). Nice look and feel, frets are ok, binding is fine, with the usual very light and minor imperfections. Small knot holes in the wood look great. The cherry red colour is more than cool. One of the very best colours in the guitar realm.
It might be unusual (I know this is rather seen as the AC DC machine), but this HB guitar is very, very mellow. If you want: a pure jazz machine. Even more when I just changed strings to Thomastik .11 jazz strings. Wonderful! I cannot judge upon high gain, but for blues, classic rock and jazz, this seems to be a more than good quality guitar for an almost obscenely low price which will make you happy! I had some Epiphone SGs, even the T. Iommi one, in the past, this one is by no means worse. Great deal.
