Harley Benton TE-90QM Trans Red

This guitar was purchased as a gift and we love its style and sound.
BUT it came with broken off wood where the cables should have gotten through properly, like someone put too much violence in their work.

This bad construction was described as "not made in the most aesthetically pleasant way" by Thomann and all they offered was a 20 EUR voucher, which is probably not more than the delivery cost if we would have exchanged the guitar. We perceived this communication as condescending. This low bar of (missing) customer service was a disappointment. Happy to pay more somewhere else.

With 2x P90 Pickups and being semi hollow, I expected a certain sound that you would find in Rockabilly or similar music, where in combination with a tube amp and relatively little gain, a nice sound is achieved. However either the pickups themselves or some other factor I can't determine, simply produce a low quality sound. If you turn up the gain, sure it works for something more "distortiony", if you turn down the gain, you get a pretty clean sound. Which makes me wonder why P90s at all? I've tried different strings, had the guitar adjusted professionally but it didn't help.

The pickup switch and jack are loose after one week of playing.

This is the only Harley Benton guitar I would not buy again.

It's pretty at least...
