I almost returned the guitar-- the sustainer did not work consistently and the tremolo was too low, even though the action was too high (?). I decided to try a Stew Mac neck shim (.5 degrees) to raise the neck. That seemed to do the trick, I readjusted the tremolo and sustainer seemed to work as it should.
Positive: The neck, body, hardware, pickups.
Negative: Factory setup, the lack of a proper one. Do they even check to see if the sustainer works?
Also, I would've preferred a hardtail model with sustainer, in case Ibanez reads this.
