As with all hand-made Turkish cymbals, there will never be 2 of a kind, so I bought this really not expecting anything particular, apart from the big sound and a lot of character.
And yes, I got both! I play it in an 8-piece funk band, and it hits just the right spot between "dry" and "juicy" so that the ride patterns will be heard without agressive playing. My cymbal does not tend to spread into crash even when I lean into it, although it does carry a significand ammount of low-frequency wash (more of a lovely rumble due to its 24" size). The bell sound is very nicely rounded, lower in timbre, and also loud enough to really cut through without hurting your ears.
So not expecting anything, and having nothing but a sound sample to check the sound, I am definitely glad that I bought this cymbal.
