Strymon Deco V2

Die Tape Saturation ist für mich auf Plug In Niveau und damit ziemlich einigartig auf dem Markt. Sie kann Clean sounds subtil auffüllen, Transienten im hochfrequenten Bereich "absorbieren" und leicht komprimieren wie es halt nur Tape kann. Weiter aufgedreht gibt es echt gut klingenden Overdrive. Dieser Teil des Pedals ist sehr, sehr wertvoll für mich und ist im Einsatz als letztes Glied der Kette hinter einem HX Stomp. An der Stelle finde ich ihn persönlich gut aufgehoben - empfiehlt Strymon selbst auch so. Ich habe das Gefühl er kann das manchmal problematische High End von Amp Modellern unterstützen.

Die Effekte auf der anderen Seite sind auch sehr interessant. Es gibt gut klingendes Slap Delay, Doubler Effekte, eine Art Stereo Widening, interessant klingendes Tape Flanging. Man fühlt und hört, dass dieses Pedal wie eine Bandmaschine denkt ;) Das ist praktisch nicht mit anderen Modulationseffekten hinzukriegen. Bravo Strymon!

UPDATE: the first pedal I got was not working properly. The channels were randomly saturated with "white noise" (Shhhhhh). Only a plug out/in could fix it. I sent it back to Thomann, great support, got a new one and it is working fine.

GOAT. The sound out of it is reacher, more organic with wunderfull harmonics. End of the chain, after the EQ. What I really appreciate is how easy and intuitive are the fonctionalities of the different knobs. Also, it is never "too much" effect, which does sound very digital and over the top in many other digital or even analog pedals. One of the few pedal that will never leave my board (except evtl. for v3 if it has preset!). I have retired 3 pedals that would try to badly emulate the sound I was searching for. My chain is: Noise Suppressor NS-1X, Compressor Wampler, Klone Centaura, EQ Boss GE-7, Stymor DECO v2, looper, direct into H&K 20W into Marshall MR1974CX Handwire.
