The A series from Zildjian is simply the classic cymbal sound you hear in your head when you imagine the sound of cymbals. This crash is just a little bit faster than a usual 16" crash, for that reason I put it as my main crash on the left side of the kit between the hihat and first rack tom. It sounds very well with my other Zildjian cymbals. It has a bright tone but yet a little warm. It records really well and I feel it can play any style. It also reacts fast and doesn't need much effort to make it ring.
I gave it 4 stars for the workmanship because it has a small kind of different colour stain on the bell. But this does not affect sound or cymbal performance at all.
Zildjian has been my go to cymbals for the last 20 years, the first cymbal I bought was a Zildjian, and the last cymbal I just bought was also a Zildjian.
