I bought this mouthpiece for my Cerveny 803 flugelhorn (which has a trumpet shank). I was intending to replace a JK Exclusiv 7A (10mm shank) flugel piece which sounds great, but has a wiggle in the receiver because the tapers do not match.
Anyway this is definitely a trumpet mouthpiece cup and was noticably shallower than my flugel piece. As such it isn't really deep enough for the thick flugel sound I wanted (and got from my JK flugel piece).
This is a good mouthpiece, sounds nice and plays well. I am keeping it for orchestra work if I am ever mad enough to join one again.
If I had one criticism it is that the bore is fairly narrow (probably stock 27 drill or maybe even tighter). While this improves the playability, it doesn't enhance the dark timbre that is achieved with deeper cups. Still, I believe most trumpet mouthpieces have this throat size so it is very comparable.
