I have several cowbells and bought this to augment the others - a mix of JCRs, Pearl and random unnamed beasts.
I wanted to get some different notes, and of the various ones available in this pitch, this bell had the best sound on the sample.
When it turned up, I was really pleased that it sounded at least as good as the sample, the foam mute that comes fixed is in the right place and overall the sound is clear but warm and not too ringy - good for a bell on a rack when you're playing several bits and pieces. I would get another of these ECB bells. The finish is a nice textured paint so it feels good to hold too, although it's maybe a bit small for a bongo bell.
I wonder whether it will hold it's tone, as it's already so dry - maybe in a year it will just be totally dead? I don't know. Right now it sounds great.
