These are made for the showtec octostrips. So there will be no issue connecting them to the fitting,
The problem lies with trying to fit them elsewhere.
First off, if you want to screw the brackets to a wall, no problem. Has standard holes for screws on the back of bracket.
But, If like me you need these to be able to have the fitting as part of a mobile system. It gets annoying, for two main reasons.
1. The nuts and bolts at the top and bottom are not a great design, I need a pliers every time I want to loosen and tighten them, a threaded bracket system would of been so much better.
2. And this is huge annoyance for me,
The nut and bolt size on the top and bottom section of the bracket are a smaller size than what most people would want.
A lot of baton lights as industry standard to be a part of a mobile system would usually use the standard mic stand thread size. These are a step down.
Which I’ve yet to see used anywhere for any stands I’ve ever used, (too small for mic/lighting stands, too big for camera stands.
Why do this?????
Now I have to buy additional adapters to even be able to use these brackets.
Just seems like a dumb move by showtec to have such a simple thing ruin the usefulness of a product.
I can still use them. But it wasn’t a product that made anything easier for my needs.
These could be designed a lot better.
