Bought this for my 6 year old as a first "real" instrument.
The good:
* solidly built with good craftsmanship
* the finish is of good quality
* frets don't stick out
* action is reasonable
* provided strings are very low tension and an average child should have no problems fretting the strings
* notes are in tune ;-)
The bad:
* the sound quality is not great
* the sound board is pretty thick, giving it a bit of a muffled sound (but of course makes it stronger, more resistant to children)
* tuners are fine, but a bit difficult to tune, not sure why (strings?)
Given the price, would probably not recommend as a very first instrument for a small child.
Rather for a child that has some experience with a previous instrument and shows real interest in learning to play.
It looks and feels like a proper guitar, anything learned on it will apply to larger instruments as the child grows.
And watching them hold down simple 2 finger chords and strum along is great fun :-)
For adults wanting something to play around with, it's fine for chords but fingerstyle at least for me (180 cm tall) is complicated due to the small width of the neck.
I would also replace the strings with higher tension ones, unless it's for a child.
