I was happy to see Roland "remake" some classic modules as VST plugin but sadly they didn't really put to much effort into it it seems.
Most other re-creation of old MIDI hardware have the feature of import of sysex dump or similar so you dust off your old sounds and make them useful again. On this? no.. nothing..
Loading one single instance in Ableton and this VST takes ~10% of CPU (I can load up 10-15 instances Korg Wavestation for the same amount of CPU) so obviously poorly written.
For the cost it is far from worth it, better off buying a second hand XV module and don't get me started on the stupid Roland Cloud crap that requires constant internet connection and calls home all the time.
How does it sound? Yeah, it sounds like my old XV-5050 and XV-3080 and that I think is the only positive I have
Will not buy a single Roland Cloud 'synth' again. I'll stick to my Korg Collection instead, they at least know how to make useable and efficent plugins
