I bought this because I wanted to learn to reface sax mouthpieces; I'm a player first and foremost, but thought it would be an interesting hobby plus I have many mouthpieces I don't use, of varying quality.
"Complete" refacing kit? Be advised - this is nowhere near "complete". Only 5 feeler gauges are provided, which is not enough for a detailed analysis of a facing curve. Surprise! You can buy a complete set from Theo separately... only ¤98!! (on Amazon you can easily find sets up to 1.00mm for under¤10, the only thing missing is a thicker gauge of around 1.905mm). The "Book" is basically a pamphlet, with no really detailed information on the processes involved, and even with some downright misleading tips about simply refacing by "feel"... a quick google search will show that refacing is a delicate process that can only be done by "feel" after much experience. So I guess it's OK for Mr. Wanne...
Also, there's no work surface included (also essential). Once again, available separately, ¤66!!
About the only worthwhile piece of equipment is the Tip opening gauge which allows a quick, accurate measurement of, you guessed it, tip openings. But not worth ¤240.
