The bass is gorgeous and perfectly crafted with a beautiful selection of woods. It was my dream to play a Warwick with a wenge neck and I am not disappointed. The neck is indeed very comfortable, smooth and rather narrow for a 5 strings. It is a dream bass but for 5300 euros you expect everything to be perfect.
I am disappointed with the electronics because the preamp is extremely sensitive to electromagnetic interferences and I will need to make it shielded. It is a shame for a 5300 euros instrument. Warwick claims that they apply a coat of conductive paint but it poorly conducts (I checked with a multimeter). I am not an isolate case according to Warwick forum; other people reported that the conductive paint is not doing the job.
I also did not appreciate that the bass was shipped in gigbag, my older warwick was shipped in a solid case. Again for the price of the instrument it makes the shipment pretty risky and I will need to buy an extra case for travelling. As a matter of fact it was shipped in a simple cardboard box with few plastic bubble bags inside, I don?t know if it is the usual way of shipping instrument with Thomann. I usually receive my basses with a double cardboard boxes system from others shops.
