I must say that the Power Ring's performance exceeded my expectations.
On a Jody Jazz DV HR playing was effortless and the altissimo unbelievably easy to produce. My main shock was how well it worked on my normal, everyday mouthpiece, a Selmer Claude Delange. It opened up new colours to the sound and, again, the extreme registers, both high and low, speak really easily at all volumns.
The mouthpiece cap however doesn't seem to be made to such a high standard. Two of the internal rubber strips that help grip the mouthpiece were hanging off and why is it stamped TS1 (tenor sax) on the inside? Surely it should be AS1 (alto sax). Maybe one size fits all... or did they run out of the correct alto ones? At this price every part should be perfect, still, it is a great piece of equipment and I don't 'play' the cover!
