The stick, rather short, is made of very straight thin bamboo, with a classy dark and matt finition. Despite its thinness, you can feel an appreciable weight which promises a good quality wood.
The core clearly sounds like wood, although the felt softens any aggressivity as it's supposed to. The balance is great, you feel a light mallet in your hand but still generous in term of power.
For this price, you have a high-quality professional mallet, which will be perfect for clear passages in classical repertoire. The sound is very warm with the wooden touch, and never agressive despite its clarity and power.
