I got this and a Meinl clamp to make a mic rim mount for snare, toms and congas, usually with ND46's. THat combo makes a rim mount with really good adjustment for height, and can also angle back and forth. The non-slip pattern is a little over-machined IMO so it can be difficult to adjust in the mount, and the thread cutting is only average. The supplied thread adapter is plastic. But you can use it with a choice of various rim mounts to suit different drums and the result is a reliable and versatile mounting, only let down by an inconvenient design. But this type of part is surprisingly hard to get threaded for mic mounts so the Meinl at this price is the best choice
