I got the mixer to have different devices connected to the same headphones and be able to stream music over/from it.
Overall the audio quality is pretty good, the sound is crystal clear. The design is also really elegant and blends in nicely.
I have a Windows computer, a mac and a macBook connected to the device. The latter is connected using a Bluetooth audio adapter and an Cordial CFU RCA cable towards the AG08.
Do note that channel 3-8 are managed in pairs (3+4, 5+6, 7+8) and do not have individual controls. But other than that it works really well.
The sound pad needs some getting used too, especially since the setup of new audio files is not just a simple drag 'n drop but rather getting the audio-file into a Yamaha specific format.
The monitor features and the Reverb / Pitch / Formant options due work very well too. Setting channel presets and configuring options is must.
I don't really do much podcasting, but the features it provides are really great for this. Also the option to have multiple outputs is great.
On device startup it also does an automatic self-test to check that all features are working and the lights are also still running.
If you are only looking for a USB Audio interface, the AG08 might not be the first choice, as the price of over 500 bucks is a bit high and it has other features you likely won't care about. However if you have special uses-cases like me (having different devices connected to a single pair head phone and also stream music from it) then the AG08 is a solid choice.
