First off all I looked for stratocaster with FR style (floating) bridge. You don't have many options here - American deluxe, one Mexican and this Squier. I've decided to buy this one and upgrading pickups and tremolo. If I buy a crap I wanted to return it.
Guitar is very good for the money. If you are not demanding, it's working well as it is. Although there are small things which are not perfect.
Pros:
+body and finish is well made, no doubs
+neck is also perfectly made and fitted against body
+frets - polished and fitted well - no problem with buzzing string due variable height of frets
+body has milled positions for 3 pickups, so you can change pickups to any combination: SSS, HSS, HSH, HH
Neutral:
=Floyd rose - tunning isn't bad, even after heavilly dive bombing. Although it's visible on the blade edges, that material is soft. Tuning between string is OK, just few times is like it doesn't return to exactly same position - one cents changes in tunner for all strings
=Pickups - very good for overdrive sounds, but clean is dark, even when splitted to single coil. Not the strat sound. Noise level is very low.
Cons:
-released tuning pegs (easilly solved)
-screws (pickguard, rear covers) are installed angled, not straight - bad quality
-rusty strings
